Happy New Year! JOOLZ had a great holiday season (our first) – a learning experience for us, as is everything this first year. Most importantly, we learned that most men do not buy gifts until the very last minute! Thanks to all of you who shopped at JOOLZ for holiday gifts, or sent someone in with instructions to ask about your Wish List.
Valentine's Day
And now it’s time for Valentine's Day. We’re well-supplied with lots of joolz – and always have a wide range of styles and prices. And for those of you who think chocolate for Valentine’s Day (or any day, like me) – remember that our M&M’s bowl is always here for you. We want to make your shopping experience fun… and one of a kind. In fact, that’s our new tag line:
We think that says it all – the store is one-of-a-kind, and so are the joolz we have in the store. Our 40+ artists are producing exciting and unique pieces of jewelry for you, and their styles are diverse and very individualistic. There’s truly something for everyone.
In an effort to connect with some of our existing artists and source some new ones, I have just returned from a 2-day trip to the New York Gift Fair. It’s HUGE, with 2700+ exhibitors spread over several different venues. Thankfully, all the handmade jewelry artists are in one (big) building and I was able to spend some time with several of them.
It’s so much fun to see their new work and to get up close and personal with their designs – much more exciting than looking at a website and trying to see true colors. I placed several orders for spring delivery and will let you know when they come in.
I also went to Jane Bohan’s studio on lower Broadway to see her line in-person, again. Jane and I met at the American Craft Council show in Baltimore last year, and I made a last minute decision to add her to the list of JOOLZ artists. Good thing I did! – she’s been one of our most popular designers. Her work is traditional but updated, 18K gold with a satin finish and wonderful textures. The stones she selects are vibrant and rich with color, and the pearls are beautifully matched with nary a blemish to be seen. It was fun to see everything and to have a chance to get to know her better. Thanks, Jane!
We're closed in March
It’s been a busy, busy time since we opened the store in May and we are ready for a rest. We’ve decided to close the store for the month of March and take some time off. Many of our local customers are away then and the tourists don’t take their vacations in the Finger Lakes area during March either. We’ll sit on a beach, soak up some sunshine and recharge our batteries for another busy spring and summer season.
Hope to see you in time for Valentine’s Day! We’ll be here at the store til February 29 and then will reopen on April 1st.
