THE LATEST FROM JOOLZ...
May 2009
It’s hard to believe I haven’t written a newsletter since January. We’ve had a lot going on, so maybe that’s the excuse…..but because we’ve had a lot going on, there’s lots to tell you...
NEW FACEBOOK PAGE
With some much-needed guidance from another Canandaigua merchant, I recently put up a personal Facebook page and then created a JOOLZ page. (I learned that you have to do it that way – personal first, business next). If you’re on Facebook, just search for JOOLZ and you should see our logo. Then you can become a FAN!! This is a great way to spread the word, friend to friend. Building awareness of the business by word of mouth, or keyboard to keyboard, is very successful. We also developed a JOOLZ ad, targeted to women in the Rochester, Buffalo and Syracuse area, and have already seen results from it. Here’s to viral marketing!
NEW ARTISTS
Facebook brought us a new artist, Brittany Wende, who currently lives in North Carolina. A friend of my Marine nephew Ted, Brittany contacted me after she read about JOOLZ on Ted’s Facebook page. She works in sterling silver and has sent us some nicely constructed, very wearable pieces like this Infinity bracelet.
Also new to the JOOLZ family are two artists working in glass. Through another internet connection, we found Kristin Perkins of Ypsilanti, Michigan. Her work was featured on the Chic and Green blog of Rochester’s Karley Ziegler Mott and I thought it would appeal to our customers. Kristin makes contemporary, clean-lined lampwork glass beads and then does all her own metal work with sterling silver. I love the purity of her pieces and their smooth edges. See if you feel the same.
Producing a completely different style of lampwork glass bead is Carter Seibels of Berkeley, California. I met Carter at a show in Las Vegas last year and have been looking forward to bringing her into the JOOLZ family. Much more whimsical than Kristin’s work, Carter creates fun and colorful necklaces that always produce conversation. I recently wore her Rainbow Hollows necklace to a couple of arts events and had ladies asking me all about it:

NEW ONLINE STORE
We’ve had some bumps in the road trying to get the online store up and running. We’re still working on it, but hope to have it in place soon. We’ll be sure to send out word when it’s open.
Lots happening, lots of new artists, lots of new inventory from many different artists. Come in and take a look...
All the best,
