THE LATEST FROM JOOLZ...
November 2009
It’s been a busy fall, with trips to Wyoming and Montana in September and another to Denver in October. And while R&R was the name of the game, we kept our eyes open for new artists…and find them we did!
In Jackson Hole we discovered Monica Jansen, a former jewelry buyer for Coldwater Creek, whose signature look is a 60 inch wrap necklace, done in pearls and gemstones of differing sizes and colors. We have several pieces from Monica, including this wonderful “Confetti” necklace, which incorporates all those vibrant western colors.
In Denver we found Ad Lopez, a retired educator who now creates jewelry that reflects his Hispanic and Native American heritage:
I wore one of Ad’s necklaces out to dinner with a friend in Denver and it stayed in Denver. She bought it right off my neck, not the first time that has happened.
We have also welcomed Nicole Yacano of TRU Jewellery, in nearby Pittsford, to JOOLZ. Nicole will be having a trunk show at JOOLZ from 4-7pm during our Holiday Art Walk, Friday, December 4th. Here’s Nicole’s striking turquoise and vermeil necklace that was sold within 24 hours.
Fourteen galleries and boutiques are participating in Art Walk, so there will be lots to see and do, culminating in a community carol sing at All Things Art, led by Canandaigua favorite Connie Fredericks Malone. It’s always a fun evening and we hope to see you there.
And this weekend, November 20 and 21, downtown Canandaigua kicks off the season with its Holiday Open House. The shop is decorated, the trees are lit and we’ll be serving our delicious wassail. Come join in the fun!
All the best,
